Everything about playing Robin's Acres and how the on-chain layer works.
Overview
Robin's Acres is a 3D isometric Web3 farming game built with Three.js. You tend a plot of land — planting crops, raising animals, and expanding — while earning $BOR, the in-game token. Your whole farm is represented by a single Land NFT, so it can be traded or transferred with everything on it.
Getting started
- Open the game and you'll start with a 2×2 field, a small $BOR balance, and some starter wheat seeds.
- Click a plot to open the action menu, then pick a crop to plant — planting uses a seed from your inventory.
- Buy more seeds in the Market's Seeds section (bulk discounts) — or trade for them.
- Wait for the crop to grow, then harvest for $BOR (and feed, for grain crops).
- Follow the on-screen quests — they guide you through every system and pay rewards.
Use the bottom dock to open the Land, Market, Inventory, Leaderboard and Settings panels. Your profile chip (top-left) shows your level and XP.
Crops
There are 13 crops. Higher-tier crops cost more and take longer, but pay more per minute — so unlocking them (by levelling up) is real progression. Grow times start at 1.5 minutes and scale with the reward.
| Crop | Unlocks at | Seed cost | Grow time | Reward | Feed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🌾 Wheat | Lv 1 | 600 | 1.5 min | 2,700 | +1 |
| 🥬 Lettuce | Lv 1 | 1,050 | 2.25 min | 4,800 | — |
| 🍅 Tomato | Lv 1 | 1,650 | 3 min | 7,500 | — |
| 🍓 Strawberry | Lv 2 | 3,000 | 4.5 min | 13,500 | — |
| 🥔 Potato | Lv 2 | 3,750 | 5.25 min | 17,250 | +1 |
| 🥕 Carrot | Lv 3 | 5,250 | 6 min | 23,250 | — |
| 🌽 Corn | Lv 3 | 7,500 | 7.5 min | 34,500 | +3 |
| 🌶️ Chili Pepper | Lv 4 | 12,750 | 9.75 min | 56,250 | — |
| 🎃 Pumpkin | Lv 4 | 16,500 | 12 min | 75,000 | — |
| 🍆 Eggplant | Lv 5 | 23,250 | 13.5 min | 105,000 | — |
| 🍇 Grapes | Lv 6 | 36,000 | 18 min | 165,000 | — |
| 🍉 Watermelon | Lv 7 | 60,000 | 24 min | 270,000 | — |
| 🍍 Pineapple | Lv 8 | 90,000 | 30 min | 405,000 | — |
All amounts are in $BOR (seed cost in USD is a small fraction of a cent to a few dollars — see each crop's live USD value in-game). Rewards follow a smooth, ever-rising profit-per-minute curve — each tier you unlock is a real step up, so there's no single "best value" crop to spam. Seeds cost about 20% of the reward, so the sink always matters. These $BOR figures move with the live token price — they're re-derived automatically, so the real-dollar value stays the same even as the numbers shown change.
Golden mutations & withering
- Golden crops: every harvest has an 8% chance the crop ripened golden — it glows and pays 5×.
- Withering: a ripe crop left too long wilts and must be burned to clear the plot (for a tiny compost payout). Watch the ⚠️ timer.
Animals & feed
Chickens roam the coop and periodically lay eggs; cows in the paddock fill up with milk. Click an egg to collect it, or a cow when it's ready to milk it. Sell both at the Market.
Animals must be fed to produce — a chicken or cow left hungry simply stops (no eggs, no milk) until you feed it; a "🍽️ Hungry!" tag appears above it as a reminder. New/just-bought animals get a short grace period before hunger can kick in.
Feed is the production chain that connects farming to animals: harvest 🌾 wheat (+1) or 🌽 corn (+3) to produce feed, then click an animal to feed it — this satisfies hunger for a while and halves its remaining production time. You can also buy feed at the Market as a pricier shortcut.
Buy more chickens and cows from the Market — each additional animal costs more than the last.
Marketplace
The Market has two tabs. 🛒 Shop is where you buy seeds, feed, animals and upgrades from the game (and sell goods to the vendor at a fixed floor price). 🤝 Trade is the player marketplace — a live order book where you deal directly with other farmers.
- Sell your surplus (eggs, milk, feed) into other players' buy orders — they often pay above the shop floor.
- Buy from players who are selling goods, sometimes cheaper than the shop.
- Prices float and orders refresh over time, so the book always feels alive.
Weather
The sky cycles through three states that change your pacing:
| Weather | Grow speed | Wilt speed | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| ☀️ Sunny | 1× | 1× | Default conditions |
| 🌧️ Rainy | 1.35× faster | 0.55× slower | Best time to plant |
| 🔥 Drought | 0.85× slower | 2× faster | Keep crops watered! |
Sprinklers & drones
- 💧 Sprinkler (unlocks at level 3): waters plots in range, cutting their wilt rate to 20% — essential during a drought. You place it wherever you like: buy it, then click the spot on your farm (a preview ring shows its coverage).
- 🤖 Harvest drone (unlocks at level 8): a rare, premium invention that flies the farm and auto-harvests ripe crops before they wilt — passive income (and passive feed from grain). It's the most expensive item in the game; buy more for faster coverage.
Both are bought from the Market's Upgrades section; prices rise with each purchase, and each is gated behind a player level so they arrive as real milestones.
Expansion
Your farm starts at 4 plots and grows endlessly. A "for sale" sign outside the fence sells the next 2 plots; buying it grows the fence and the whole world outward with a smooth animation. Prices compound, so each expansion is a bigger commitment.
Levels, quests & achievements
- XP & levels: almost every action grants XP. Levelling up unlocks higher-tier crops.
- Quests: a guided 10-step chain that teaches the game and pays $BOR + XP.
- Achievements: 15 milestone badges, shown in your profile.
- Leaderboard: ranked by total $BOR earned this season.
- Decorations: cosmetic fountains, lamps, statues and more to personalise your land.
Economy & $BOR
$BOR is the game's currency and reward token, launching at a target market cap of roughly $20,000 on a fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 $BOR. You earn it by harvesting and selling goods, and spend it on seeds, expansions, animals, sprinklers and drones. The HUD shows your balance with its live USD value.
Every price in the game — seeds, rewards, expansions, animals, upgrades — is pegged to a USD target and continuously re-derived from $BOR's live price, so the real-dollar cost and value of everything stays stable even as the token price moves.
Withdrawing is a three-step flow, mirroring the on-chain WithdrawVault
exactly: Request (moves an amount out of your spendable
balance), a 24-hour anti-dump lock, then Claim
it to your wallet. You can cancel a pending request at any
time before it unlocks and get the full amount back instantly — a
withdrawal always resolves to a claim or a cancel, it never gets stuck.
Land NFT — how ownership works
The first land sale is 10,000 lands at a ~$10 equivalent each, paid in native ETH — the same price for every buyer, no allowlist tiers or dynamic pricing. Each land is an ERC-721 NFT you can trade on OpenSea or transfer wallet-to-wallet. Owning a Land NFT is required to play with a real, persistent farm — connect your wallet and the game verifies it on-chain before letting you in. No land yet? The free demo is always open.
To keep the world lively as new players arrive, the supply grows by 1,000 lands per week (released on-chain, capped to one batch every 7 days). At some point the community will decide where the collection should stop — and the team will lock a permanent final supply cap with a one-time, irreversible action. After that, no more lands can ever be created beyond that number.
The key idea: farm state is keyed to the token ID, not to your wallet. The full state (plots, crops, animals, buildings, $BOR, level) lives off-chain under that token ID, with an on-chain hash committing to it. So when the NFT changes hands, the new owner simply owns that token — and therefore the same farm. Nothing needs to be "moved"; everything comes with it automatically.
- Trade on OpenSea or transfer directly — the farm follows the token.
- Creator royalties on secondary sales via EIP-2981.
- Token IDs run 1–10,000, matching the in-game land number.
Smart contracts
Four contracts make up the on-chain layer, built on Robinhood Chain (EVM-compatible) with Solidity and OpenZeppelin:
| Contract | Standard | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| RobinsAcresLand | ERC-721 + ERC-2981 | Land collection: 10,000 at launch, +1,000/week, one-time final cap, ~$10 mint paid in ETH, royalties |
| FarmRegistry | Custom | Anchors farm state by token ID (state travels with the NFT) |
| BORToken | ERC-20 + Permit | The $BOR currency/reward token, capped supply |
| WithdrawVault | Custom | Credited balance + 24h withdrawal lock |
Every mint, transfer, and withdrawal is a real on-chain transaction you can verify yourself on the Robinhood Chain block explorer. Contract addresses are published here as soon as they're deployed and verified.
FAQ
Do I need a wallet to play?
Only to play your real, persistent farm — that requires connecting a wallet holding a Land NFT. You can try the free demo any time without one.
What happens to my farm if I sell my land?
The buyer receives your entire farm — every plot, crop, animal, building and $BOR balance — because it's all tied to the land's token ID.
Why is there a 24-hour withdrawal lock?
It's an anti-dump measure that keeps the $BOR economy healthier by spacing out withdrawals.
Can I lose a crop?
Yes — a ripe crop left unharvested will wither. Use sprinklers (and drones) to protect your harvests, especially in a drought.
